YLT's Here to Fall

I like this new Yo La Tengo song / video, even though I think of this every time I listen to them.

Free Beep Tape (Koushik)

I'm freshly back in Alaska after a week of chillaxing in Hawaii, where blogging was an afterthought. Let me make it up to you with some free music. Koushik - a great downtempo act on Stone's Throw, put out a new album and it's available for free for a limited time.

It's 30 tracks of Donuts-length beat snippets. Definitely a fun listen.

Get more info and download it for free Here.

Also - I'm back on the decks after a week on the beach. I'm playing golden-era hip hop this Thursday at the Anchor and then cruising down to the Alibi to show Homer how to party on Friday night.

Strange Arrangement

This Mayer Hawthorne album is really dope. Dude is from Ann Arbor, Michigan - Mayer is his middle name and Hawthorne is the street he grew up on. He also plays records as DJ Haircut, but this album is all old school soul sounds.

"Maybe So, Maybe No" is one of my favorites - and this video is cool too.

It's actually the only cover on the album, the cut was originally by The Holidays.

One of my other favorites is "One Track Mind," but I can't seem to find that anywhere. Go buy the album, trust me.
