What I'm listening to

Haven't done this in a while - this is what I'm up on.

Herclues and Love Affair - House music on DFA with a touch of gay vocals.

The new Verve remix album. I dig the Diplo, Pilooski and 9th Wonder remixes, of course.

Cousin Cole and Pocket Knife "Tambourine Dream" This is the coolest stuff I have heard in a long time. Track down their remix of Bruce Springsteen's "I'm on Fire." Really.

Daedelus "Love to make Music to." Electro pop with Taz Arnold from Sa-Ra.

CSS - "Donkey." They're Brazillian, 'nuff said.

Midnight Juggernauts - "Dystopia" Sounds like David Bowie singing for Cut Copy.

Flying Lotus - "Los Angeles." Dope beats, sounds like Madlib.

The new Kid Cudi / 10 Deep mixtape.

Download my Moda Mix

Here's the 30 minute mix I made for Lulu E. Bebe's Moda Fashion show a couple months ago. If you haven't yet, take a look at this ill audio slide show that ADN photog Marc Lester put together (that's where I grabbed the photo above).

Download the mix here and feel free to pass it on: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=8b507b0c4cb5bb7300d27174b47c6657e04e75f6e8ebb871

Is the funniest news story I've seen since this:

If you have the time / inclination the remixes are totally worth it.

Happy Fourth!

Cherry, Cherry and Poke

I know I said I was gonna post my mix from Lulu's show and I haven't yet. Sorry. I've been busy with work - yes I still have a job at the ADN (unfortunately some close friends will no longer be sharing the same office with me) and have been enjoying the sunshine and playing records.

Poke has been a staple of my New Sagaya runs lately. Shout out to Snowers for the photo (I forgot my camera).

Special shout out to everyone who came out the the hip hop summit. Apparently law enforcement and noise complaints were an issue (hip hop police!) and that's why my set was a little on the quiet side. Said Bernie: The next time the cops come, I am going to jail. Catch me upstairs this Saturday, where we get loud and don't worry about Johnny Law.

I'm half getting ready for a wedding / half surfing. What's your favorite wedding dance cheese? Neil Diamond anyone?

Looks like me and LBO will be headed to Seward for the fourth to watch Josh tear up and down the mountain. Holler at me if you will be down there too!
