Apologies for the lack of posts recently, I've been busy with my other blog and it's Twitter page.
Here's an update.
I'm DJing at two of my old stomping grounds this week: Bernie's Bungalow Lounge on Friday and the Anchor Pub and Club on Saturday. I've played at Bernie's most summers since '02 and was the original DJ at the Anchor when it opened in summer of 07.
This may be some of the worst music I have ever heard in my life. It doesn't even have any "this song is terrible, but if comes on the radio I won't change the channel" value. I never thought I would turn into my parents, but if I have a kid and they play this I will flip my shit.
Just got off the phone w. my boy and we were talking about Hangover - looks pretty good. Will likely put a lot more people onto Zach Galifianakis. Here's the trailer.
I'm not going to act like I've known about the dude forever, but this video for Kanye's "Can't Tell Me Nothing" put him on my radar a while back.
There's probably some connection to Jon Brion who had produced music for both Fiona Apple and Kanye and this video Fiona did for Not About Love. Sorry nobody had embed links.
Also watch this video she references in the video :
This Rockets v. Lakers series has a lot of fun to watch.
I don't know if you guys read Bill Simmons, but you should. In this piece he says the following:
"Thank God Scola's hair didn't touch Vujacic's hair. I think the Staples Center would have blown up."
Wow.
There's still some time left in game 2, but it looks like The Lakers are going to run away with it. Artest has been getting hot headed - he doesn't like it when Kobe elbows him in the neck, go figure. You guys remember this jam?
Kobe Bryant is a cold blooded killer, so the Lakers will probably end up taking this series, but you know who I'm rooting for (photo circa 2004 Detroit vs. LA Finals):
